  • Commercial law appeals involving real estate, breaches of contracts, breaches of formation documents, breaches of fiduciary duty, stock purchase agreements and employment issues
  • Commercial and residential real estate transactional work

Honors From The Legal Community

I have frequently been honored by my fellow attorneys for my work. In 2002, I was selected for inclusion in Washington Rising Stars. In 2006, the Washington State Bar Association recognized me with the Best of CLE (continuing legal education) award for my presentation, “The Law of Adjoining Property Owners.” In 2011-2012 and from 2014 to the present, I have been included in Washington Super Lawyers. I am also AV Preeminent peer-review rated,* the highest rating, through Martindale-Hubbell.

In addition to my full practice at the trial court level, I have been a member of the Washington Appellate Lawyers Association since 2014. My appearances in the appellate courts in the state of Washington include the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit, the Washington Supreme Court and the Washington Court of Appeals. I served as a court-appointed arbitrator for the King County Superior Court from 1999 through 2019, and I have also served as a mediator in real estate matters.

As a former college athlete, I apply the lessons I’ve learned in competition to my law practice. Sports taught me the virtues of flexibility, adaptability, persistence, faith and, most of all, the values of self-discipline and hard work. These tenants of my practice style will help you in your appeal or other legal problem. I am an aggressive litigator who will fight for you from day one until your case is resolved.

Adventurer, Athlete, Sports Enthusiast

I am a very active person. In my spare time, I cycle, ski, hike/walk and dabble in art.

I love to cook (I collect cookbooks), and enjoy gardening and going to the theater and movies. I am also fond of travel, both to foreign countries and on road trips to eastern Washington, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Utah and Canada. I am a devoted Dawg fan and a “12” for the Seattle Seahawks. On any given Saturday or Sunday in the fall, you can find me on my couch, live-tweeting my way through all the Washington Huskies and Seahawks games.
