Catherine, or “Cat” as she is also known, in addition to being an attorney, is a very active person. She cycles, hikes, skis and is thinking about participating in a triathlon to help rehab her shoulder. She loves to cook (Cat collects cookbooks), gardening, theater and movies. She enjoys travel both in the USA and abroad. She will often be heard to say, “Time for a road trip” and will get in the car to drive to visit friends in Eastern Washington or Wyoming. Cat believes it is a restorative experience to drive the American West with our Cascade Mountain Range, the Sierra Nevada Range, the Rocky Mountains, the Tetons and the vast expanse of it all. Of course, she likes airplanes as well.
Cat is a dog person (she is allergic to cats). She is fond of boston terriers and is the present Lady in Waiting to HRH Queen Boudicca, Warrior Terrier. Defender of the Faith. Protector of the Realm. “Pig,” as the Queen is also affectionately known, is a rescue dog having been saved from a puppy mill by a local rescue operation, namely Ginger’s Pet Rescue/Death Row Dogs (http://www.gingerspetrescue.org/ ). Pig has a hard life as you can see here in a picture with her best friend, Bella Bean.
Cat has always been an athlete of some kind (with significant absence from it while attending Law School). She swam at the University of Washington earning an athletic scholarship, four varsity letters, academic honors and was part of a school record relay team. She has also been or is currently a runner, a cyclist, a skier, a walker and a weight lifter. She has participated in three Seattle to Portland rides completing each in a one day ride each time thinking around mile 165 “when was this a good idea again?” She is presently a part of the Herriott Sports Performance Cycling Club (http://hspseattle.com/ ) and you can see her on her bike in their signature black/red/white uniforms.
And it goes without saying that Cat is not only a devoted Dawg Fan, and is a 12 as well.
Cat is a big fan of theater most particularly Book-It Repertory Theater (http://book-it.org/ )and the Seattle Repertory Theater (http://www.seattlerep.org/ ). She is also a big fan of William Shakespeare and has travelled to both Vancouver, BC for Bard on the Beach (http://www.bardonthebeach.org/ )and to Ashland, Oregon to participate in the Oregon Shakespeare Festival (http://www.osfashland.org/ )—Henry V is her favorite play by the Bard (“What’s he that wishes so? …”).
